Older Adults Older Adults

Tai Chi – funded by Ambition for Ageing, this weekly Tai Chi session is aimed at engaging older adults and improving their physical and mental wellbeing.  This session can help improve balance and coordination and is excellent for building strength and stamina.  It is a suitable exercise for those with diabetes, those returning to gentle exercise after a stroke or other illness and can be fully adapted as a chair based exercise for those who have less mobility.  The session takes place each Monday from 1100-1200 in the function room at the Tameside Stadium and costs £2 per participant.

Curling – We have received funding from Ambition for Ageing to launch a curling class for older adults at Richmond Street Community Centre.  We hope to launch this early 2018.

Walking FootballOur very own walking football team, the Nash Amblers, train each Friday at the Tameside Stadium from 11:00-12:00.  The session costs £2.

There is a beginner’s session that is organised by Active Tameside and delivered by our Disability Officer, Luke Davenport each Friday from 10:30-11:30 at Oxford Park.  The cost is £3 per session.
