The Nash earned a solid point on their travels, as they were held to a 0-0 stalemate at The Brewery Field against Spennymoor Town.

In a game that lacked chances it was the hosts who had the first, as Mark Anderson fired a free kick just over the bar.

Shortly after Cameron Mason was called into action for the first time. Glen Taylor controlled well and hit a fierce effort, fortunately for Curzon Mason was equal to it and saved well to keep the scores level.

After a quiet start from the Nash they came close with 10 minutes left of the first half as Niall Cummins played a neat ball for Oliver Crankshaw in behind the Spennymoor defence.

Agonisingly for Crankshaw, Gould in the Moors’ goal pipped the winger to the ball and gathered well.

With their three game unbeaten run to protect Curzon came out for the second half with much more intent, and forced Gould into action on the hour mark.

A great bit of build up from the Nash resulted in Cummins squaring for Guest across the box, who’s well hit, deflected effort was stopped by Gould.

At the other end, the hosts came close to opening the scoring, but were denied by the heroics of James Baillie who superbly cleared off the line to deny Anderson.

With the clock ticking Connor Hughes looked to nick the win for John Flanagan’s side, however his curling effort from the edge of the area was well saved by Gould.

Both sides were unable to break the deadlock and the Nash left The Brewery Field with a well earned point, keeping them 10th in the table and extending their unbeaten run to four league games.
