The Club can confirm that our COVID-19 Medical Officer, Dr John Vella, has written to the National League to request permission to suspend our involvement in competitive games following 2 positive PCR tests within the first team bubble, as well as other players developing symptoms in the last 48 hours.
We thank the National League Board for agreeing to our request.
Chairman, Wayne Salkeld said “We’re obviously disappointed to have to suspend our involvement, especially after the win over Bradford and point away at Southport, but the safety of the players and staff is our number one priority. We have managed the risk throughout the season and I believe we are the only club that hasn’t missed a fixture up until now. I have to put on record my thanks to the all the players, staff and medical team for following the guidelines so diligently”
Our upcoming games against Southport & Guiseley will definitely be postponed.
News of when we will re-commence our involvement in competitive games will be confirmed once known.
