Curzon Ashton are delighted to announce the signing of defender Max Cartwright.
Cartwright, who can play either left-back or centre-back, started out at Fleetwood Town and progressed through the academy at Highbury.
The defender impressed during a loan spell at Chorley, where he was part of their Evo-Stik NPL title winning side, and returned for a second spell the following season.
A loan move to Southport in the National League resulted later that year before the 22-year-old was released by the League One outfit at the end of the 15/16 season.
Max subsequently joined Stockport County in 2016, where he scored on his debut, before signing for Ashton United at the start of last season.
Manager John Flanagan, on the signing of Cartwright, said: “In Max, we’ve signed a fantastic young player who can play in a number of positions. Although only 22, he brings good experience and excellent quality to the left side of the pitch.
“I’m sure once he settles into the way we go about things at Curzon, I think we’ll see the excellent qualities that saw him get a two-year professional deal at Fleetwood Town.”
Everyone at Curzon would like to extend a warm welcome to Max and wish him well with his time at the club!
