Curzon Ashton are thrilled to announce the return of striker Adam Morgan.
Morgan, 24, has signed for his second spell at the club after originally departing in late 2016 for Halifax Town.
The former Liverpool striker attracted the attention of the Shaymen after stealing the headlines with his famous FA Cup hat-trick in our clash with AFC Wimbledon, live on BT Sport.
Adam went on to score 11 goals in just nine appearances for the Nash, with six of those coming in the FA Cup - a tally which saw him end the campaign as joint leading goalscorer alongside Tottenham Hotspur’s Son Heung-min.
Adam began his career with the academy at his boyhood club Liverpool, where he went on to make three first team appearances under Brendan Rogers in the 2012/13 season, one coming in a Europa League clash against Hearts where he was named in the starting team alongside Steven Gerrard and Luis Suarez in front of 45,000 fans at Anfield.
After the Nash, Adam made an immediate impact at National League North play-off challengers Halifax, scoring seven goals in his first six appearances.
His time in Ireland with Sligo Rovers got off to a promising start, as he scored four times in his first six appearances. However, with injury problems hampering his progress, he left the club with a total of five goals in 17 appearances in all competitions.
On his return to the Tameside Stadium, Adam said: “I’m delighted, I had a great time here last time. I think John and Nev were a massive factor in me coming back here. We had some really good times and some memories that I’ll never forget.
“There’s a few new faces, a few old faces who I’ve got good memories of and I got on well with. I’ve seen the quality in training again so hopefully we can start pushing on now and be further up the league.
“I just want to be happy and I loved it here. I know I can score goals for Curzon so hopefully I’ll score loads of goals and we can make more good memories.”
Everyone at Curzon Ashton would like to extend a warm welcome to Adam and wish him well with his second spell at the Tameside Stadium!
