Changes to the Board structure

Curzon Ashton FC can today announce that, ahead of the 2019/20 season, Harry Twamley BEM has decided to step down from his role as Chairman of the Club, one of two roles he currently fulfills.

Commenting on the change, Harry said

"I've held the positions of Chairman and Finance Director for a number of years now and, as we prepare for another season in the National League North, I've decided that the time is right to make the change. We've made great progress on and off the field and I now feel that the good work should continue under a younger leadership team. I am pleased to say the Board accepted my proposal for Wayne Salkeld to become Chairman with Jimmy Newall as Vice Chairman.

I will continue in my role as Finance Director and I have every confidence that Wayne and Jimmy will bring new energy to the roles and I wish them the best of luck. They have both been extremely loyal servants to the Club and fully deserve the opportunity to help take us forward"

In a tradition dating back to the formation of the Club, Harry can be seen with Wayne and Jimmy, handing over a Golden Gavel, given to all previous Chairmen during their tenure.

In a further move, the Club are delighted to confirm that Syd White has agreed to join the Board. Syd brings with him a wealth of knowledge of the non-league game around Tameside and beyond. Syd previously held the roles of Commercial Manager, CEO & COO during a 15 year spell with Tameside neighbours, Stalybridge Celtic.

We wish Syd the warmest of welcomes to the Curzon family. More news on the work that Syd will be involved in will announced be in the very near future.
