The one nil win against Southport on a brisk Tuesday on Tameside was therefore vital in setting up a formative battle at the top end of the table.

Chorley have been fantastic this season, since taking top spot from Scunthorpe United, however they’ve also shown signs of faltering.

Two losses in the last four games will give the Nash hope that a positive performance could produce a result.

Curzon will still be expecting one of the toughest tests of the season, as Chorley’s last home defeat came all the way back in mid-August.

Curzon’s stellar away record this season, combined with the best defensive record in the league should give Mahon’s men confidence that they can upset the Magpies in top spot.

Though Chorley lead the way in the division, it’s just four points separating the top seven, the Magpies will be well aware they have a lot to protect.

With the match abandonment on Saturday, the Nash have two games in hand, making this matchup all the more interesting.

It’s the game of the National League North this weekend, and all eyes are on Victory Park Stadium.
