Curzon Ashton’s impressive league form is taking a break as The Nash travel to local rivals Stalybridge Celtic in the Quarter finals of the Manchester Premier Cup.

In the first round, Curzon comfortably saw off FC United of Manchester winning 4-1 while Stalybridge Celtic upset National League North side Radcliffe winning 2-1.

Stalybridge Celtic who won the Manchester Senior Cup back in 1923 currently play in the Northern Premier League division one west and sit 8th in the league. Last time out saw them fall to a 2-0 defeat against Congleton Town.

The sides haven’t met since July 2022 in a pre-season friendly with Stalybridge winning 2-1, while there has only been 4 competitive meetings between the sides in the National League North with 3 draws and 1 Curzon win in 2016.
