The trio took to the dugout following the departure of Adam Lakeland, after what will be another successful season, they have put pen to paper and committed their immediate future to The Nash, keeping them at the Tameside Stadium until 26/27.
Whilst the manager role at Curzon Ashton was a step into the unknown for Manager, Craig Mahon, he has excelled in the position, guiding The Nash to two, first round qualifications in the FA Cup where they faced league opposition, leading them to their highest league finish last season, consequently losing out to Chorley on penalties in the playoffs, as well as racking up nearly 200 appearances as player/manager.
Mahon’s two assistant managers, Jack Salkeld & Mark Bradshaw however are no strangers to the Tameside Stadium, Salkeld having been involved with the club since the age of 6 and the latter approaching his 20 year anniversary at the club.
They have been familiar faces in the dugout in recent years, Salkeld starting as Assistant Coach under Management due John Flanagan and Ian Nevison in 2015, before working his way up to Head Coach and finally Assistant Manager, a position he has held since appointed by previous Manager, Adam Lakeland in 2021.
Assistant Manager, Mark Bradshaw is no stranger to management, like Salkeld, he started his management journey at Curzon Ashton in 2016 as Head Coach, under John Flanagan and Ian Nevison, he was then appointed Curzon Ashton Manager working alongside assistant Will Ryder in 2018/19 before taking a step back following his departure to continue coaching Curzon Ashton Juniors, he eventually returned to the dugout in 2020/21, as Assistant Manager.
Commenting on the extension, Chairman, John Clayton said:
“Delighted to get these contracts signed and looking forward to continuing our journey together.”
