Match preview by Leon Higgins

Defeat at Aggborough on Saturday has seen the Nash drop to 8th in the league table, sitting a point outside the playoff places.

With Easter always a decisive weekend in the calendar, Curzon know that the two fixtures in 4 days across the weekend against teams with only pride to fight for in Alfreton and Farsley Celtic on Easter Monday represent a great chance to get much needed points if Craig Mahon’s side want to be involved in the play offs at the end of the month.

With none of the promotion chasing teams losing on Saturday, The Nash lost ground on Chorley who drew at home to Marine while Hereford, King’s Lynn and Buxton all won on the road at Oxford City, Farsley Celtic and Scarborough respectively.

With three games left, the race for automatic promotion is as tight as ever. Scunthorpe sit top on 84 points while Kidderminster and Brackley sit behind on 83, Chester on 78, Chorley, Hereford and King’s Lynn on 73 round off the play off places. Curzon and Buxton on 72 and 71 points round off the chasing duo.

Good Friday’s fixtures see Brackley host Oxford City, Hereford take on Leamington, Kidderminster travel to already relegated Rushall and Chester travel to Southport. Buxton v Chorley and King’s Lynn v Scunthorpe are the huge promotion race games.

Alfreton have had a steady season with the Reds 15th in the league on 54 points. With only pride to play for, Alfreton will know this is a chance to try new things ready for next season. The Reds are currently on a 4 match unbeaten run with draws against Marine and Rushall Olympic coming in between home wins against Leamington and Peterborough Sports.
