Alex Curran with the only goal on his 100th appearance for The Nash.


The game started slowly with neither team creating a chance in the first 10 minutes.

Ilkeston had the first chance of the game in the 11th minute when Samuel Essien’s header went wide of Callum Hawkins’ left post.

20 minutes in Curzon had their first chance of the game as Tony Weston ran onto a horrendous back pass from the Ilkeston defender before rounding Alfie Roberts but his shot went agonisingly wide.

With 25 minutes left of the first half Curzon were slowly growing into the game with Tony Weston’s chance the only big opportunity of the half so far.

In the 35th minute, Chi Ezennolim won a freekick for Curzon which led to nothing.

Just before half time Crispin McLean was the first player to be shown a yellow card – this brought to an end a poor first half.

The second half began with the first chance falling to The Nash in the 53rd minute, as Crispin McLean found Tony Weston on the right hand side with Tony driving into the box and shooting, however, his effort was saved by Roberts.

In the 58th minute, Curzon won a penalty as Brad Holmes was clipped inside the box by Alfie Roberts. Alex Curran stepped up and scored his 7th goal of the season on his 100th appearance for The Nash.

Mark Bradshaw made his first substitution of the afternoon on 72 minutes, as Jack Stobbs came on for Brad Holmes.

With 10 minutes of the game to go The Nash were holding onto there 1-0 lead.

In the 82nd minute, Crispin McLean’s corner found Joel Amado at the back post with his header going just over the bar.

Ilkeston player Sam Parker received a red card in the 83rd minute as he brought down Alex Curran with Alex running in on goal.

As the clock reached 90 minutes, Mark Bradshaw made another change as Jack Stafford replaced Crispin McLean.

With 6 minutes of added time awarded, Ilkeston were looking for the equaliser, L’varn Brandy drove into Curzon’s box with his low shot being easily saved by Callum.

The referee blew the full time whistle with Curzon advancing into the third round of the Isuzu FA Trophy.

The Nash are back in league action next Saturday afternoon with a trip to Worksop Town.
