A second half brace from Luca Thomas and an own goal cancelled out Joel Amado’s opener in the first half.

The opening moments of the encounter were dominated by Fylde possession, however it was the home side who were presented a great opportunity to open the scoring. Skipper Jimmy Spencer pinched the ball off Ethan Mitchell’s foot before squaring it to Tony Weston inside the box, but his shot whistled just past the post.

The game began to open up as The Coasters were beginning to grow in confidence and got their first chances of the game. The first was a looping corner in the 15th minute that found Luca Thomas unmarked at the back post but he couldn’t steer his effort on target and the second being a strike from Jon Ustabasi that clipped the crossbar.

However, it would once again be Tony Weston who would have another golden chance for The Nash just four minutes later. Charlie Weston played him through one-on-one with a pinpoint pass, but Zac Jones raced off his line to close the angle and make a smart stop to keep the score goal-less.

The deadlock was broken five minutes before half-time after some brilliant work from Chi Ezenollim won The Nash a corner. Jack Stobbs found Charlie Weston free at the edge of the box and he smashed a low shot that was parried out by Jones into the path of Joel Amado who rifled his strike into the roof of the net.

Just as the fourth official indicated added time at the end of the first half, the visitors found their equaliser through Luca Thomas. Jon Ustabasi’s cross from the left-hand side was parried into the middle of the box by Callum Hawkins before Thomas struck home to level the score at the break.

HT 1-1

Mark Bradshaw was forced to use his bench for the first time in the 53rd minute as Chi Ezenollim went off injured and was replaced by Jack Stafford.

Curzon had their first opportunity of the second half five minutes later as Ben Darby found Tony Weston in the box but George Wilson made a great last-ditch challenge to deny Curzon from re-taking the lead.

Fylde once again started to dominate the ball with Luca Thomas going close just after the hour-mark with a low left-footed effort the grazed the foot of the post.

On the 70th minute Mark Bradshaw made two more substitutions as Brad Holmes and Joe Rodwell-Grant replaced Alex Curran and Tony Weston.

Four minutes later, Fylde got their noses in front for the first time. Tom Whelan’s whipped free-kick was flicked on by Joe Rodwell-Grant and into the roof of the net, leaving Callum Hawkins no chance. A third was then added in the 79th minute as Luca Thomas latched onto a cross from Lincoln McFayden and calmly tucked the ball into the bottom left corner.

Despite The Nash battling through the last 10 minutes, Fylde kept the ball well and saw out the last moments of the game out with their two-goal lead intact.
