Match Report by Joel Longworth.

A goal from Tony Weston and the winner at the death from Brad Holmes was enough for Curzon to earn the three points.

Alfreton started the game on top, with the visitors having the first chance of the game thanks to Adam Lund’s header from a corner on the 4th minute.

After 15 minutes of action, neither side had managed to break the deadlock, with both teams struggling to dominate.

As the 25th minute mark arrived both Curzon and Alfreton were still cancelling each other out, however, on the 27th minute, The Nash found the breakthrough through Tony Weston’s 9th goal of the season.

Crispin McLean received the ball in Alfreton’s half and played a brilliant ball, splitting open Alfreton’s defence as Tony Weston rounded Harry Burgoyne, with him slotting the ball into the empty net.

With 10 minutes of first half action to go, T.Weston’s strike was the difference between the two sides, as Curzon continued to control the game.

On the 38th minute, Alfreton had the chance to draw level through a freekick just outside the area, Joseph Dodoo stepped up but thankfully his freekick took a deflection off the wall and went out for a corner.

As the referee added 2 minutes additional time at the end of the first half, Curzon had the last opportunity of the half as goalscorer Tony Weston tried to get his second goal of the game but his curling effort from range went wide.

HT 1-0

Much like the first half it was Alfreton that started the half on top, with their first attack resulting in an equalising goal as Bayley Mc Cann levelled the score.

Following the goal Alfreton continued to dominate possession and had the opportunity to go in front through two big chances from captain, Adam Lund, however, both of his efforts were well held on to by Callum Hawkins in the Curzon net.

As ten minutes of second half action passed, Curzon had their first chance of the second half as Crispin McLean laid the ball off to Charlie Weston on the left hand side with C.Weston smashing the resulting shot into the side netting.

As the clock reached the hour mark goalscorer Tony Weston was played in down the right hand side, with his near post shot being saved by Harry Burgoyne.

Head Coach Mark Bradshaw made his only substitution of the game on the 71st minute as Crispin McLean was replaced by Brad Holmes.

With less than 10 minutes of normal time remaining Curzon were pushing for a winner as goalscorer Tony Weston & Alex Curran both saw their shots miss the target.

The 90th minute arrived with the referee indicating 4 minutes of added time giving Curzon enough time to find the winner…

The Nash found that winner in the 95th minute through Brad Holmes!

Goalscorer-turned-assister Tony Weston did brilliantly on the right-hand side, picking out Brad Holmes inside the box, and the striker fired a low shot into the bottom right corner for his 7th goal of the season.

This was the final action of the game as The Nash win their first home game since October.
