Men’s team: Curzon Ashton 0-3 Radcliffe

The Nash endured a tough final home game of 2025 on Boxing Day with a 3-0 defeat to Radcliffe.

The away side started the game quickest and their amounting pressure paid off in the 11th minute as Joel Amado brought down Jordan Hulme in the box. Rio Clegg stepped up from 12 yards and converted his penalty to give Radcliffe the lead.

Before the half-hour mark, the visitors doubled their lead as Rick Smith got his head on a corner kick and sent his effort past Callum Hawkins, with Mark Bradshaw’s side having a mountain left to climb.

Curzon did begin the second half with more intent as Tony Weston drove into the penalty area and tried to pick out Alex Curran, only for his cross to be intercepted and cleared.

However, Radcliffe found themselves on the counter attack from the clearance and won a corner for themselves. Once again, the set piece paid dividends and they found themselves three goals to the good, this time being finished off by captain Jordan Hulme.

Despite their efforts, Curzon couldn’t conjure up any sort of consolation as Radcliffe defended resolutely and now sit fifth in the league table.

The Nash will go again on Tuesday in their final game of 2025, when they travel to Southport for a 7:45pm KO, tickets are available to purchase online HERE
