Match Preview by Leon Higgins

After a 2025 that provided plenty of records, The Nash face a tough start 2026 with a trip to Aggborough to face a Kidderminster side who themselves will feel that this is finally their year to return back to the National League.

After a brilliant 4-2 victory at Southport last time out to end the year in style, Mark Bradshaw’s side also stopped a three game winless streak in all competitions following league defeats against Merthyr and Radcliffe alongside the FA Trophy loss to Marine.

A busy January that features three home games and three away games in the league alongside a home Manchester Senior Cup quarter final against Bury. Home fixtures come against Bedford, Telford and Hereford while the two other away trips this month come at Leamington and Spennymoor.

Curzon ended 2025 just outside the playoff places on 34 points, two points behind Scarborough and Darlington who occupy the final positions.

Kidderminster currently sit 4th in the league table on 43 points. The last five games in all competitions have seen The Harriers go unbeaten with two league wins at home against AFC Fylde and last time out against Telford while also winning two games on the road at South Shields and Hereford to join a FA Trophy penalty shootout victory at Worksop.

Manager Adam Murray who replaced Phil Brown in the summer made the addition of Michael Gyasi to the Harriers squad in November after joining on loan from Kings Lynn Town until the end of January. Gyasi instantly featured in GW3 team of the week and won the National League August player of the month while at Kings Lynn Town after a opening day goal against Telford, a treble against Spennymoor Town and the leveller at Darlington, before finishing his first month at Lynn with two more goals and an assist against Merthyr, but a change in management in October saw limited opportunities at the club.

Head to Head:

There has been 17 meetings between the sides with 15 of those coming in the National League North. Kidderminster have by far the better record in the league with 10 victories in comparison to Curzon’s one with four draws.

There has been two cup meetings between the sides with both claiming one victory each. The first ever meeting between the clubs came in the FA Cup with Kidderminster winning 2-0 at Aggborough after goalkeeper Dave Carnell was arguably harshly red carded.

That came the same season, after Curzon had famously defeated League 2 Exeter in Round 1. The other cup clash came in the FA Trophy under Mark Bradshaw for his first game in charge, winning 3-0.

Curzon Ashton:

  • Brad Holmes made the final 2025 National League North team of the week after his hat-trick against Southport last time out. The was also the only Curzon hat-trick of 2025.
  • Holmes has scored the most goals off the bench in the league with 4.
  • Curzon are yet to win when failing behind.
  • The Nash have gained 30 points from leading positions.

Kidderminster Harriers:

  • Luke Spokes (GW6), Emeka Obi (GW7,GW13,GW23) Luke Spokes (GW8), Dan Mooney (GW12), Jack Clarke (GW15), Michael Gyasi (GW19), David Davis (GW20), Amari Morgan Smith (GW21), Owen Evans (GW22) have all made the league’s team of the week.
  • Only South Shields Jasper Sheik (8) and Fylde’s Zac Jones (7) have kept more clean sheets than Christian Dibble’s (6)
  • Radcliffe (8) are the only team to have scored more headed goals than Kidderminster’s (7)
  • Only Alfreton (6), Peterborough Sports (8) and Leamington (9) have scored less goals from forwards than Kidderminster’s (10)

Management preview:

Following Tuesday night’s 4-2 win to conclude the year, we spoke to Head Coach Mark Bradshaw about Saturday’s game against Kidderminster:

If we perform we can challenge any team in this league, it was a really tight game against them at our place, they got the goal but I think we we had more chances than them on the day.

I remember their manager being complementary about us and saying that really (it could have been) a draw or even we could have won that game – so we’ve got to go there with confidence, belief, a game plan and make sure we keep trying to improve defensively as a group, the first defenders are our strikers.

It’s game you look forward to, coming to a good stadium on a grass pitch is always better than playing on astroturf, so, we look forward to games like Kidderminster and hopefully the Nash fans will back us like they did today (Southport) – they were outstanding, very vocal and it really makes a difference to the lads.
