Director and youth team coach of Curzon Ashton – Richard Twamley

I have a few great memories of Curzon and the FA Cup. My first huge one is that game against Exeter City, we had never had so much publicity for a game and to beat a league side, that Jimmy Ogoo goal, wow, and of course the celebrations after were unreal.
I do however have to mention that Wimbledon game…..I would rather only remember the first 80 minutes and Adam Morgan’s hat trick. But to have those feelings I will never forget. Truly the beauty of the FA Cup.

Sports Lecturer and lifelong Nashfan – Keiran Kozyra

I’m been around the club since I was a junior player when Wayne (Salkeld) was my manager!
For me the magic of the cup is summed up in 1 game, Wimbledon at home probably the best and worst day ever in my life. I went from top of the world and dreamland to rock bottom in 8 minutes, it’s the first time football made me cry.
Adam Morgan’s insane opening screamer to securing the hat trick, but then, a glancing header and killer blow flying in the top corner ensuing absolute heartbreak.
162 seconds from the chance of playing one of the premier league big hitters such as Man Utd, Man City, Liverpool, Chelsea.

Quite simply, the magic of the FA Cup. Up The Nash.

“That” Wimbledon game…..
