The Nash
The Nash will hope to continue their fantastic start to the season this weekend. Currently, they sit in 3rd place in the league, just 3 points off the top and equal with 2nd along with progression confirmed to the 4th round qualifying of the FA Cup.
The only “blip” being Isaac Sinclair’s withdrawal early in the 1st half in the last game at Southport meaning his recovery and training will have been monitored this week. However, The Nash this year have much more depth to their squad, and Ben Darby stepped in to make sure he provided a controlled display in that victory at The Sandgrounders.
Curzon also celebrated 1 year of Craig Mahon and his management team being in charge over the past week, his record stands at 30 wins from 57 games and has stated how he continues to “love every minute at the club” in comments made about his year in charge earlier this week. Something I’m sure 3 points would only increase his love for Curzon.
Buxton
Buxton (The Bucks) made huge changes over the 2024 summer, as they made the move from a part time, to a full time team.
This meant a huge overhaul of the squad along with a new face in the dugout in John McGrath who joined the club from Mickleover. However, you would assume that 12 points from 8 games and currently 16th place in the table wouldn’t have been quite the start they were looking for. The Bucks have lost 4 of the last 5 in the league, including at home to Marine, however their last league fixture was nearly a month ago.
Their most recent game was on Tuesday night, after a 1-1 draw at home, they took Kidderminster to a replay in their own FA Cup qualifying fixture, but, unlike The Nash, they did not progress as they fell to a 2-0 defeat.
This one will be a stern test, The Nash will be hoping to get some payback after their 3-0 defeat at home the last time the 2 sides met, nearly derailing Curzon’s playoff push earlier in 2024.
Make sure to enjoy the water, it couldn’t be fresher!
