Tuesday night’s 2-0 victory over Scarborough Athletic saw Stefan Mols score twice as The Nash moved into third. On the back of such a great result, Curzon’s emphatic start continues, with all attention now on today’s game. Player-Manager, Craig Mahon, will be wanting to see a continuation of what he saw on Tuesday, with the club now only 2 points adrift top spot, setting the scene for an exciting clash today, here at The Tameside.

Meanwhile, Chester had been unbeaten in the league since the 17th August, that was until last Tuesday, when they fell to a 1-0 defeat at Buxton, dropping them from 5th to 9th. With Chester having dropped a few places in their own promotion charge, they will be more than keen to pick up points in today’s clash.

Curzon have had the edge over Chester in previous encounters, with Curzon beating Chester in 6 out of the 14 occasions that the two teams have played each other, whilst Chester have only won 5, however, the last time the two sides faced one another, the teams were subject to a 0-0 draw. Both sets of fans will be looking for a better spectacle today, and with Curzon’s recent league performance, encouragement is to be had.

The Nash

• Look to continue promotion charge after excellent start to the season.
• We have not won at home in the league since the 20th August despite a positive league campaign, emphasising today’s importance as a home fixture
• Curzon have conceded the joint-second least goals in the league so far this campaign. Solid.
• Curzon last defeated Chester on the 22nd January 2022, in a 4-3 victory at The Tameside.

Chester

• Our player-manager, Craig Mahon, played 218 times for Chester FC.
• One to watch out for is Charlie Caton, who has scored 7 in 11 for The Blues.
• Chester have been members of the National League North for 7 seasons, however were once football league football league regulars in their previous incarnation as Chester City, remaining in the football league from 1931-2000.
• The Blues defeated Curzon 1-0 at The Tameside last October, so they will be hoping for a repeat of that result.

All are invited and encouraged to support The Nash on Saturday, so come along and be a part of it, as we continue our march through this league campaign.
