Richard takes up the post with immediate effect and will be instrumental in the day-to-day running of the club.

As the son of Curzon Ashton founder Harry Twamley, Richard has been a part of the club since its early days. In 2022 he was appointed as a director of the club and is regularly seen on a matchday as the friendly face meeting & greeting guests, welcoming fans to the stadium and organising and overseeing a range of events throughout the season.

He has also spent the last six years as a junior coach, coaching the Curzon Ashton girls and most recently the Curzon Ashton U8 boys.

Richard now embarks on a new role and a new journey, taking up the position of General Manager, overseeing and leading the club through their continued development.

Speaking on the appointment, Chairman John Clayton said:

 We are delighted to announce another step forward in the Clubs progression, we believe that the appointment of Richard as General Manager will demonstrate once again our intent to put in place a structure that can carry the Club forward.

With the ever increasing workload and increased profile of Curzon Ashton it is essential we build a strong team to help propel the Club to the next level and we believe Richard, with his knowledge of the Club and business acumen is the right person to help achieve our goals.

It’s a great honour to be asked to be GM of this football club as everyone knows my ties to the club and I certainly know what it means to everyone associated with the Curzon Ashton

I will be just another cog in the wheel that is Curzon Ashton and I know we will all work together to take the club further i can’t wait to get started Up the Nash!
