Alongside the role, Rory will also manage the newly formed Reserves Team & join Mark Bradshaw’s backroom staff as First Team Coach.

Holding a degree in Football Coaching & Management, a number of years coaching various age groups and most recently working in a sport education, coaching/mentor capacity at Foundation 92, Rory has an impressive background in football development and a passion for nurturing young talent.

As the new Head of Academy Coaching at the club, Rory will oversee the progression of players from youth ranks to the first team while playing an integral role in the club’s future growth and success. He will work closely with the first team squad and management to ensure seamless integration of emerging talent into senior football. His experience in youth coaching, combined with a deep understanding of the game, will help bridge the gap between youth development and first-team football.

Key responsibilities in this pivotal role will include:

Collaborating with First Team Management: Rory will work hand-in-hand with the first team squad and coaching staff to identify, develop, and promote players who can make the step up to the senior squad.

Managing the Reserve Men’s Team: Taking charge of the reserve team, Rory will be responsible for nurturing the next wave of talent, ensuring that they are well-prepared for the demands of professional football.

Supporting Youth Coaches: A key aspect of the role will involve working closely with the club’s youth coaching team to provide guidance, share best practices, and ensure that the development of young players remains a top priority across all age groups.

Overseeing the BTEC Program: Rory  will also manage and support the BTEC program, helping young players balance their academic studies with football development, and preparing them for life both on and off the pitch.
