After making their senior FA Cup debut for the first team last weekend, in a 4-1 victory at the Tameside Stadium against Hebburn Town, Ben Connolly & Harry Olufowobi were back in action last night (Wednesday) when they featured for the youth team, in the FA Youth Cup against Chester.

The youth team unfortunately fell to defeat due to a 90+5 minute winner following an equaliser scored by Harry Olufowobi in the 72nd minute.

Commenting on the involvement of Harry Olufowobi & Ben Connolly within the first team setup, Curzon Ashton First Team Head Coach, Mark Bradshaw said:

Ben and Harry have both been with the first team squad since the first session of pre-season, both went to Spain and have been involved in almost all first team games this season both getting on the pitch vs Hebburn at the weekend.

It’s a fantastic experience for young lads to be involved with first team players but it’s also a massive test of their character and attitude when they go back into the youth team or Reserve team. Both are handling it very well so far and must keep pushing themselves to remain around the first team environment.
