Read below as we get to know of some of the the players wearing the Curzon Ashton kit…
(1) Laila Stanley:
Laila, 18, is Curzon Ashtons goalkeeper, joining the team in the 2024/25 season. Laila described how she had a bad time at another club and therefore made her transition to Curzon Ashton, not looking back.
She first began playing football when she was 6 for Chaddy Park under 7s and has played since.
(6) Rachel Owen:
Rachel, 29, is one of Curzon Ashtons Centre backs, joining the team in July 2025, ready for the 2025/2026 season. Rachel described how when looking to join the club she saw how CAWFC had been established in the league for a while and had a good history, and she felt good at her first few sessions.
Rachel began her football journey in 2005 with Golborne Girls FC, moving to Bolton Women’s team in 2009. After suffering injury and attending university Rachel only played recreationally before joining Chorley Women in 2020.
(4) Ruby Moore:
Ruby, 17, is another of Curzon-Ashtons Centre Backs, joining the team at the start of the 25/26 season. Ruby described how she wanted to take a step up, and the club seemed correct, with the best facilities, players, and managers for her.
Ruby began her football journey by playing on the street with her neighbour, and joining Reddish North End at 7 years old.
(8) Annie Taylor:
Annie, 19, is Left Back for the women’s team, joining the team for the 2025/26 season. Annie joined the club after being brought down to a training session and really enjoying it.
Annie has been playing for 10 years now, since she started playing for Chadderton Park FC at 9 years old.
(12) Simi Drummond:
Simi, 33, is Curzon-Ashtons left back, joining Curzon in 2021 when her previous manager recommended the club. Simi has therefore been with Curzon for 4 years.
Simi is a former Welsh international that began playing football at a very young age, and at 7 years old joined her first girls’ team in Llandudno
(7) Kaitlin Millward:
Kaitlin, 19, plays right back or right wing for the women’s team, and has been at Curzon-Ashton since she was 8 years old, but joined the first team when she turned 17. Kaitlin described how she first ever began playing football at Curzon Ashton and has since worked her way up and managed to break into the first team as she got older.
(11) Jordon Bailey:
Jordan, 30, is one of Curzon-Astons wingers, residing with the team for 3 years now, after she joined in 2022. Jordan joined the team after she was searching for a new team and was approached by a Curzon player, encouraging her to come down to training.
Jordan began her football journey playing with the boy’s football team at school and was then encouraged by a teacher to go down to Bolton Wanderers Girls team.
(18) Libby Barrett:
Libby, 17, is one of Curzon-Ashton’s wingers, joining the team at the start of September, after being asked to attend a training session. Libby described how she began playing football in year 2 in primary school and made it onto the boys’ team in year 3, starting her football journey.
(15) Olivia Smith:
Olivia, 33, is a forward on the team, and joined the team in September 2025, ready for the 25/26 season. Olivia returns after she spent a short period at the club in the 2023-24 season. She began her football journey at the Manchester City and Stockport Centre of Excellence.
(10) Maisy Mitchell:
Maisy, 18, plays Centre midfield for the women’s team, joining this season. She began playing football at the age of 3 with her brothers’ team.
Maisy described how before she joined Curzon Ashton women’s team, she had always had a connection with Curzon, playing the majority of her childhood games and winning her first ever trophy at the Tameside stadium in the junior cups.
(9) Amy Smith:
Amy, 37, is Curzon’s striker, and has played with the team since 2016. Amy started at the club when it was originally Oldham Curzon and was brought over by the old manager.
Amy first began playing football at Stockport County, when she was visited at school and told to look into the girl’s team at county.
(20) Ivy Caraher:
Ivy, 17, is both a striker and winger for the Curzon-Ashton women’s team; she joined the team in July this year after hearing lots of good things about the club. She played for a different team in the same league as Curzon last season, and knew they were successful, so after attending some training sessions she signed on.
Ivy began playing when she was 4 and has enjoyed the sport ever since.
