Match Preview by Leon Higgins

Following a second successive 1-1 draw on Saturday this time against Telford United, Mark Bradshaw’s side will head to Cheshire for the first midweek game of the season hoping it will be a happy trip back across the M56.

Chester come into this fixture off the back of a 3-0 defeat at Chorley. The Seals did however take a home 3-2 victory on the opening day against Peterborough Sports. Following his double against Peterborough, Dylan Mottley-Henry made it into the National League North Gameweek 1 team of week.

Chester have been busy in the transfer market this summer with the acquisitions of Offrande Zanzala from National League South side Torquay who has experience in League 1 and 2, featuring for Stevenage, Accrington, Crewe, Carlisle, Barrow, Exeter and Newport County. Other incomings have included, George Barlow from Bolton, James Jones from Altrincham, Finley Shrimpton from Scunthorpe, Tom Leak from Boston Utd, Dion Kelly Evans from Woking, Fin Roberts on loan from Crewe and the double loan U21 International goalkeeper signings of Wales U21 Lewys Benjamin from Wolves and Ireland U21 Andrew Wogan from Stockport.

Head to Head:

There has been 14 fixtures between the sides, with 13 of those clashes coming in the National League North, the other being in the FA Trophy. The Nash have won on 7 occasions with Chester claiming 5 victories while there have been 4 draws including a 1-1 draw at the Deva Stadium back in March.

Management preview:

Speaking in his post-match interview on Saturday, Head coach Mark Bradshaw looked ahead to tomorrow’s trip to Chester.

There’s no signs of any knocks or injuries even though everybody has given everything today.

Going into Tuesday’s game I have a full group to choose from and we will have a look at Chester, how they’ve done today and last week.

It’s always a game that we look forward to, I always enjoy going to Chester, fantastic stadium, good pitch against a good team and this is what should excite people, this new group, going to new stadium’s and showing what we are capable of.
