Match Preview by Leon Higgins

Joe Rodwell-Grant & Charlie Weston’s first goal for The Nash added to Brad Holmes’ second of the campaign the meant it was a happy bank holiday Monday for Mark Bradshaw’s side, earning a first victory of the campaign at Buxton and putting the disappointment of last Saturday’s defeat to Merthyr behind them.

Curzon will be without some crucial players with Jordan Richards ruled out after coming off injured with a suspected hamstring injury against Merthyr, Adam Barton also suffered injury against Buxton on Monday. Chris Stokes is also doubtful after missing the last two games due to picking up a niggle against Chester. Luke Griffiths will also not be available after his transfer to Macclesfield today.

Curzon end a mixed first month of the season with the tough test against Kidderminster. Harriers come into this match sitting 8th in the league table with eight points on the board. They have claimed two victories so far, with an opening day win against Scarborough alongside Monday’s victory at home to Leamington. While losing only one game at Flyde, Harriers have picked up one point on the road with that being a 1-1 draw at Worksop to go with another draw at home to Oxford City by the same scoreline.

Both teams have had players feature in TOTW with Reece Devine featuring in GW1 after his winning goal against Scarborough. In GW5 both teams had players feature with Seb Thompson for Kidderminster and Curzon’s Jack Stobbs also featuring. Monday also featured a 200th appearance for Marcus Poscha

The Worcestershire side have had a busy and major summer haul with several incomings and outgoings. The major departures of top scorer Ashley Hemmings to Dagenham and Redbridge, Caleb Richards to Woking and Reiss McNally to Hartlepool as well as the double departure of Kyle Morrison and Zak Brown to Brackley have meant Kidderminster have had to have a squad refresh.

Incomings have seen Emeka Obi join from AFC Fylde, Tobi Sho Silva from Maidenhead Utd, Jason Adigun from Dagenham and Redbridge, Kurt Willoughby from Oldham, Dan Mooney from Chester, Luke Spokes from Chippenham, Zanda Siziba from York City, Jordan Tunnicliffe from Solihull Moors and the double signing of Eastbourne’s Jack Clarke and Pierce Bird alongside Notts County loanee Ryley Reynolds, has given Kidderminster a whole squad refresh with EFL and National League experience.

Head to Head:

Across the 16 previous meetings in all competitions, Harriers have the better record, winning on eleven occasions with one draw. The Nash have claimed four victories with the most recent clashes last season seeing Kidderminster win 1-0 at the Tameside Stadium before winning again 3-0 at Aggborough.

Management Preview:

Head coach Mark Bradshaw shared his thoughts ahead of our fixture against Kidderminster Harriers:

Saturday is another game that all players should look forward to, another full-time team and another club with ambitions to get to the next level.

We’ll do our work on them, we’ll have a look at our squad on Thursday and see who is fit and available and we’ll go into that game knowing that we’ve learnt a lot today (Buxton) in what it takes to win a game, so we’ll be ready.

Happy Hour:

Ahead of Saturday afternoon’s fixture the Nash Bar within the stadium will be open from twelve o’clock and will be holding a ‘happy hour’ between 12-2pm with all pints of lager and cider available for £4.

The bar will be showing the Premier League early ko – Chelsea vs Fulham.

All fans welcome!
