Match Preview by Leon Higgins

After claiming a 5-4 penalty victory following a 3-3 draw at Hyde in the previous round, Curzon host a Bury side who claimed a 4-2 win against Maine Road in round one.

Bury interim manager Tim Lees confirmed in his post match interview on Saturday that he would treat this as an opportunity to give players some game time, whilst offering some Under 21s a place in the matchday squad as the Shakers did against Maine Road.

In the Northern Premier League West, Bury sit in third place on 48 points after 25 games, four points behind Lower Breck who lead the way and have played a game more. Last time out Bury drew 1-1 with second place Avro at Gigg Lane with 3,739 in attendance, showing the support is still strong for the club that went out of business in 2019.

Bury Football Club currently reside at Gigg Lane, playing their football in the North West Counties, the 9th year of the English Football pyramid.

Bury have won the Manchester Senior Cup on 10 separate occasions and twice since it has been renamed ‘The Manchester Premier Cup’.
