Season 10 in the Vanarama National League North is round the corner.
The Nash host “newbies” to the Vanarama National League ladder in Needham Market FC to kick off their 2024/25 campaign.
Curzon Ashton, led by Craig Mahon (who enters his first full year as a player manager), has stated he “will always be a student in this job” in an interview this week but is very much looking forward to getting the campaign underway.
The recruitment process has been a learning curve, with ins and outs (Long serving goalkeeper Cameron Mason has moved to pastures new in Chester), but Curzon have recruited very well in replacing him with Bobby Jones who performed well last year at promoted Marine FC, and taking National League North team of the season inducted Issac Buckley-Ricketts from Warrington Town amongst others. These alongside the Curzon youth academy producing three players to sign on for the 24/25 season.
Curzon also enjoyed a summer holiday/training camp period in Jersey (Picking up the Bulls Cup) in the process to start potentially filling a trophy laden managerial career for Craig Mahon.
Needham Market (The Marketmen) who were promoted from the Pitching In Southern League Premier Central (finishing above ex National League North sides Telford and Leamington).
Top scorer Jamie McGrath has signed on for the 24/25 season, Cameron Jessup has returned to the club after spells within Championship team academies and with experienced football league player, Kevin Horlock in charge they be determined to prove the doubters wrong, with many predicting they will be this seasons bottom club heading into the season.
Horlock has been manager of the Marketmen since February 2020 and will be hoping the success story continues in 24/25.
All the best to both sides on the opening game of the 2024/25 National League North season!
