Preview by Sam Jeavons

Following a fine run of form in the opening quarter of the season, a tricky week of fixtures means a big performance is needed this Saturday. With the turbulent cup tie against League One Mansfield Town prior to the one nil loss to Kidderminster on Wednesday night, Curzon will be looking to finish the week on a high.

Spennymoor Town FC await at The Brewery Field, despite Curzon being six places higher in the table than their opponents, just three points separate the two sides.

It’s a highly competitive season in the National League North with a mere 11 points between the playoffs and relegation. It’s important Mahon’s men return to winning ways and bolster that precious playoff position.

Spennymoor Town are coming off the back of a huge result against league leaders Scunthorpe United, a result which does the Nash favours at the top end of the division.

It was two home defeats on the bounce for the Moors, but in a five goal game, the Moors came out victorious on Tuesday night, and they’ll look to build from this on Saturday.

The Nash’s strong start to this campaign was built heavily on away form, having only lost once on the road this season, the travelling faithful won’t want this to let up.

With fixtures picking up as we enter into the busiest period of the football calendar, results are vital, especially in a league as tight as this.

The Nash

  • Three points off top spot and in the midst of a tight play off battle, it’s highly competitive at the top of the National League North
  • The Nash are looking to continue the brilliant away form displayed this season with only one loss away from The Tameside Stadium.
  • Three points on Saturday would make it an impressive three wins in four league outings.

Spennymoor Town

  • Coming in following a massive result against league leaders Scunthorpe, the Moors will be hoping this can kickstart their promotion push.
  • Previous meetings have resulted in a stalemate. From 12 matches, Curzon have won four, the Moors have won four, and there have been four draws. Who will swing the record in their favour?
  • Prior to the two losses on the bounce before the Scunthorpe victory, Spennymoor were unbeaten at home this season.
