Match Preview by Leon Higgins
After last week’s impressive victory at Chorley that saw Curzon reach top spot, attention now turns to a local trip to the Cal.Delivery Stadium against Warrington Town, in the next challenge for Craig Mahon’s side.
With King’s Lynn Town the only top 7 side in action due to FA Trophy involvements, the Nash have the opportunity to pull clear at the top of table – with this fixture being just one of the games in hand on the chasing pack.
This is Warrington Town’s 2nd season in the National League North, following promotion from the Northern Premier Division in 2023. This season they are currently sat in 18th in the league table, just three points above the relegation zone.
Recent form has seen The Yellows draw their last three league games against, Chester, Scarborough and Rushall Olympic, while falling to cup defeat by Southport in the FA Trophy and the Liverpool Senior Cup.
Last season saw lots of goals between the two sides, The Nash claimed two victories at Cantilever Park, winning 3-2 in the FA Cup and 4-1 in the league, with Warrington claiming all three points in a 3-0 victory at The Tameside Stadium in February.
Curzon Ashton
- Nash player of the Month winner, Stefan Mols, scored his 10th goal of the season in the 3-0 away victory at Chorley.
- The Nash are currently on a 7 game unbeaten run on the road and sit not only at the top of the table overall but on away form.
Warrington Town
- Current Curzon number 7, Isaac Buckley-Ricketts, scored two goals for Warrington Town the last time the two sides met, before moving to The Nash in the summer of 2024.
- Warrington Town Manager, Paul Carden, returned for his second spell at the club, having left The Yellows in 2021 following 5 years in charge. After brief spells at AFC Telford and Nantwich Town, he returned to Cantilever Park in September 24.
