The only goal of the game came midway through the first half when Luke Griffiths (Who in the post-match interview from Adam Barton, has been told to increase his presence in the oppositions box), latched onto a poor clearance from the Bucks backline and neatly smashed the ball home from around 15 yards.
Curzon could have made it more comfortable before half time after Jimmy Spencer decided to turn 3 defenders and from 25 yards smashed an effort off the crossbar.
Half time was 1-0.
The second half again tested the Nash backline; however it is their strength and something they are getting better and better at.
Buxton failed to create a clear breakthrough, and their frustration told on the 88th minute. After an attacking move broke down, meaning Isaac Buckley-Ricketts broke away down the left-hand side, he was poorly upended by Buxton’s Delap who along with his manager McGrath saw red, along with 3 yellow cards also being issued in the ensuing brawl that took place.
8 minutes were added at 90’, but once again Curzon showed their experience and know how to see out the game.
The focus now moves to cup action for Curzon with Manchester County Cup on Tuesday against FC United followed by FA Cup action against Kings Lynn the following Saturday.
