Goals from Brad Holmes, Charlie Weston and Joe Rodwell-Grant cancelled out the goals from Ryan McLean and Tai Sodje.


The Nash started the game brilliantly going ahead in just the second minute of the game through a Brad Holmes goal. Jack Stobbs had the ball on the right hand side and played a great cross into the box as the ball fell to Holmes whose half volley went into the net.

On the 12th minute, Brad Holmes had another chance to double Curzon’s lead & his goal tally as Alex Curran drove forward and passed the ball over to Brad who cut inside onto his right foot with his shot going just over the bar.

Curzon’s brilliant start continued as just before the fifteen minute mark Jack Stobbs played another amazing ball into the box as Alex Curran’s looping header was saved by Paul Cooper in the Buxton net.

20 minutes in, Buxton equalised through Tai Sodje.

Curzon were forced into an early change on the 26th minute as Charlie Weston replaced Adam Barton who came off with an injury. With 10 minutes left of the first half, Buxton had a chance through Luke Brennan as his shot was caught by Hawkins.

Just before the half time whistle, Jack Stafford was shown a yellow card for kicking the ball away.

Half time arrived with The Nash level at the break.

The second half began with the first opportunity coming in the 55th minute as substitute Charlie Weston had the ball inside the area as a right footed effort went just wide of the post.

The 63rd minute arrived and Curzon went back in front through Charlie Weston. Jack Stafford’s in swinging corner on the right hand side found Charlie Weston as he powered his header home for his first goal for Curzon Ashton.

Mark Bradshaw made his second substitution of the game on the 67th minute as Joe Rodwell-Grant came on to replace goalscorer Brad Holmes.

On the 72nd minute, Jack Stafford was sent off after a foul on Will Trueman which was deemed a second bookable offence by the referee.

With 15 minutes to go Curzon were down to 10 men but they had a corner, Jack Stobbs whipped another brilliant delivery in as Joe Rodwell-Grant rose highest making it 3-1 to Curzon!

Buxton grabbed a goal back through Ryan McLean, with only 10 minutes left to play.

Mark Bradshaw made his third substitution of the game with eight minutes of normal time remaining as Crispin McLean came on to replace Jack Stobbs who was responsible for two assists this afternoon.

The 90th minute arrived with the referee awarding 7 minutes of added time and Bradshaw made his final substitution of the game as Ben Connolly came on to replace Tony Weston.

In the 5th minute of added time Buxton had a chance to level it as Luke Brennan’s corner found George Ward whose header went wide.

The referee blew for full time with The Nash claiming all 3 points for the first time this season!
