An own goal from Will Hayhurst was followed quickly with the equaliser from Alex Curran.

The Nash started the game well with them creating the first opportunity of the half through Adam Barton. Captain Jimmy Spencer brought the ball down and played in Adam behind Chester’s defence as his shot was blocked. Shortly after Chester had their first chance of the half as Declan Weeks crossed from inside the box to Tom Peers whose header went wide.

Tom Peers had another chance for Chester as he laid it off to Kevin Roberts with Bobby Jones producing a great save. 13 minutes in, Chester went in front through a William Hayhurst own goal from a Dylan Mottley-Henry cross into the box. 3 minutes later, The Nash equalised through Alex Curran. Chester failed to clear the ball from Stefan Mols’ shot as it landed at the feet of Alex Curran who placed it into the bottom right corner.

Midway through the first half, Chester had a chance to go back in front as Dan Mooney had the ball on the right hand side cut inside onto his left foot, firing it over the bar. Another chance for Chester as Declan Weeks was involved again with the ball on the right hand side as his cross found Dylan Mottley-Henry but his shot was collected by Bobby Jones.

Half time arrived with The Nash drawing however, Chester had created the most chances in the first half in this promotion clash.

The second half got underway with Chester creating another chance as Iwan Murray was played in behind with Bobby Jones pulling off a great save with his legs. Midway through the second half Curzon had a great chance to go in front as Isaac Sinclair played the ball in behind Chester’s defence with Alex Curran running onto it but he failed to get his shot off.

With 5 minutes of the 90 left to play Chester had the chance to go in front as substitute Dan Turner cut inside as his shot was blocked. With 5 minutes of additional time being awarded Isaac Buckley-Ricketts had the ball on the left hand side as he cut inside with his shot being saved by Jimmy Storer.

Curzon take the point at The Deva Stadium against fellow promotion rivals Chester as they look to start a unbeaten run in April to get into the play off positions.

Curzon will now look to get back to winning ways with a long away trip on Tuesday night to Needham Market.
