The Nash made one change to the usual 11 that have started the majority of the season. The manager Craig Mahon coming in for Adam Barton who missed out entirely through injury.
It was Curzon who started the brightest. Swift passing moves meant that both Stefan Mols and Isaac Buckley-Ricketts got around their respective full backs but neither could provide a cross.
However it wasn’t long until Curzon took the lead. Isaac Sinclair picked up the ball in midfield, drove at the Hereford back line, lined one up from around 25 yards which curled beautifully into the corner. It was a superb finish against a goalkeeper that stands around 6ft 7 – TOP BINS!
Around the 30 minute mark, Kyle Howkins and Tait Campbell made their way into the referees book for fouls. A referee that in all, had a busy afternoon, and potentially should have been busier.
Before half time, Curzon went close again from a Will Hayhurst free kick, but it would be Hereford who would draw level before half time.
A corner into the box wasn’t fully cleared and Campbell swept home from the edge of the area. Half time it was 1-1.
No changes at the break, but it wasn’t long into it the scoreline changed again. A deep cross from the right met the head of Hereford’s Matt Preston who nodded home comfortably, 2-1 to the Bulls.
Another booking followed for Hereford, along with the pace of the game being controlled by the team in the lead. On a number of occasions the referee choosing to warn the Bulls players repeatedly over showing a card, something The Nash fans would continue to feel agitated over.
Curzon did have the ball in the net from a Stefan Mols header, but it was to be ruled out by the Assistants flag, more groans came from the Curzon faithful.
5 minutes were added, and the ball went long, but the Hereford backline are full of “big lumps” who love to defend, and Curzon, could not find a leveler.
Final score was 1-2.
A first defeat for Curzon since early September (7 games) who now face the long journey to the north east to face Scarborough on Tuesday night.
