The Nash started the game quickly with Stefan Mols putting The Nash in front within the first minute, new signing Connor Falls ran down the left hand side and pulled his shot across the box as Stefan tapped it into the net. A couple of minutes later Curzon had two more chances to put themselves even further ahead through Connor Falls and Isaac Buckley-Ricketts.
13 minutes in, The Turbines were level through an own goal by Timi Sobowale as Bayley Mccann smashed his cross across the box and Timi’s attempted clearance was tapped it into the net.
Midway through the first half, Isaac Buckely-Ricketts had a great chance to put The Nash back ahead, some lovely footwork in the box ultimately led to a blocked shot. The 33rd minute mark arrived as substitute and player/manager, Craig Mahon crossed a beautiful ball into the box with new signing Connor Falls’ glancing header hitting the post.
Shortly before half time Peterborough Sports had a corner which resulted in a goalmouth scramble inside Curzon’s box with Bobby Jones making a great save. In added time of the first half Connor Falls had the ball outside the box and delivered a great cross to Adam Barton with his header hitting the side netting.
The Nash ended the first half 1-1 but created a lot of opportunities with Peterborough Sports struggling to get a foothold into the game.
The second half began with Peterborough Sports having a massive chance to go ahead through a poor back pass by Craig Mahon, however, goalkeeper Bobby Jones came and dealt with the danger.
Another chance arose for the Turbines as Kaine Felix had the ball outside of the box but blazed his shot over the bar, as the second half dragged on there was not much to report as both teams were happy to give each other the possession of the ball.
The 68th minute mark arrived and Curzon were struggling to get into the game as Peterborough Sports had another chance to go ahead through Dan Jarvis, as the ball fell to him and his attempted overhead kick went just wide of Jones in goal.
With 15 minutes left on the clock, Michael Gyasi had a great chance to put the Turbines ahead as his shot from inside the box led to Bobby Jones pulling off a great save. Shortly before the full time whistle Peterborough Sports had another chance to grab the winning goal as Curzon were failing to deal with Dan Jarvis with his effort being defended by Marcus Poscha.
Curzon are unbeaten on the road in four games as a goal from Stefan Mols and an unfortunate own goal from Timi Sobowale saw Curzon leave PIMS Park with a point.
Curzon will now look to get back to winning ways as they host Buxton FC at The Tameside Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
