The pink shirts worn by the Nash showed 10 changes from that of the team that played Saturday, the only one to remain was ex FC Utd player, Luke Griffiths. The first half was played by what looked like 10 players who had never played together, little movement or fluidity with far too many missed placed passes.
FC United took full advantage, creating a number of opportunities and could well have had more than one by half time if it not were for Josh Ollerenshaw in The Nash net who made a string of good saves. FC United earned their goal, which came from a deep cross headed home in the 18th minute.
Half time 1-0 with work to do!
Curzon made one change at the break, Jordan Richards coming on for youngster Bailey Middleton, with some movements in the backline and some more organized pressing providing more chances for The Nash.
However it was not until Stefan Mols and Isaac Buckley-Ricketts (For Charlie Bingley and Luke Griffiths) entered the pitch that Curzon scored, and it was a new name on the team sheet.
A switch of flanks for Michael Afuye meant he could get past his marker, playing the ball across the box for Lewis Lacey to smash home. Now the Nash were firing.
10 minutes later and Curzon were in front, this time Afuye with a looping header from Oliver Kvaternik’s cross and Mike celebrated in style in front of the travelling Nash fans.
As the board went up for added time at 90’, Curzon turned on the style. Firstly Stefan Mols tapping in from close range after Lacey’s strike had hit the post and barely a minute later IBR rounded the FC Utd keeper to make it four and progression was confirmed in the Cup for The Nash.
Attention now turns to the FA Cup with a huge game on Saturday 12th October – DON’T MISS IT
