Men’s team: Worksop Town 0-1 Curzon Ashton

The Men’s team claimed back-to-back 1-0 wins on the road as Mark Bradshaw’s side fought out a cagey victory at Worksop Town.

In similar fashion to last week, the teams went into the break at 0-0 with the chances from either side being few and far between with Tony Weston going closest.

The Nash kept battling throughout the second half and the hard work paid off three minutes from time as Charlie Weston’s drilled cross was steered home by Chi Ezennolim to grab his first goal of the season and all three points.

The result sees Curzon now sat 8th in the table, just one point outside the play-off places.

The focus now turns to Tuesday night as the Men’s team will make the trip up to Darlington with kick-off at 7:45PM.

The Nash will then return to the Tameside Stadium on Saturday as AFC Fylde come to town, led by a familiar face in Craig Mahon – tickets are available for purchase HERE.

Women’s team:

A 10 player Curzon Ashton Women’s Team suffered defeat when they played a dominant Bolton Wanderers Women’s Team in a behind closed doors game at Lockstock Training Ground.

Reserves: Curzon Ashton 0-4 Macclesfield

The Reserves’ suffered a 4-0 home defeat at the Tameside Stadium 3G to second placed Macclesfield.

With the deadlock yet to be broken at half-time the second half started with everything up for grabs, but it was Macclesfield that struck with two great strikes to get their noses in front.

For all Curzon’s work and chances created it was a lack of clinical finishing that cost Paul Cocks’ side as Macclesfield took their opportunities by adding another two goals before the final whistle.

Despite the result, the Reserves’ currently sit third in the league and will welcome Wilmslow Albion to the Tameside Stadium 3G this Saturday, KO 2.30
