Craig Mahon's Nash opened their pre-season schedule with a trip to Hanley Town at Potteries Park.

First-Half
The hosts would start the brighter at Potteries Park as a cross from the left finding it is way to Turner, who sees his effort blocked away by Bobby Jones. It would not take long for our hosts to breach the Nash goal, as two minutes later, a low cross from the left is dispatched into the bottom left corner by Jones, 1-0. The following corner caused a bit of mayhem for the Town backline as Jimmy Spencer meets the cross, forcing a save from Whitehouse. Curzon’s best chance of the half would soon follow, as Adam Barton hit a low driven shot wide of Whitehouse’s right post. Hanley would almost double their lead, as a corner from the left crashes off Bobby Jones’ cross bar. Turner was proving a thorn in the Curzon defence’s side, as he found some space outside the area, but his effort is comfortably caught by Bobby Jones. Jordan Richards would chef up the next opportunity as he picks out Adam Barton in the box, but his header only finds Whitehouse’s gloves. Stanton decided to have a go for himself, but the effort left a lot to be desired. Another chance, another attack down the left, with Baker firing an effort into Bobby Jones. Will Hayhurst looked to relieve some pressure as he shot from range, Whitehouse catches well. Isaac Buckley-Ricketts had his first chance in Nash colours as he plucked the ball from the sky, shimmying around his man but the shot is held by Whitehouse.

Second-Half
Youngster Cameron Tetlow had the first opportunity of the second half but blazes the ball over the bar. Mike Afuye showed what he was about right from the off as he weaved his way into a shooting position but bent his effort just wide. It was that man again down the right, this time crossing into the six-yard box where Trialist could not adjust his body in time to turn the ball towards goal. Timi Sobowale did not want to be left as he went into a crunching tackle midway through the Town half, with the ball falling for youngster Oliver Kvaternik, who’s bending effort goes just wide. Luke Griffiths looked to bring the visitors back level as he bolted into the box, only seeing his poked effort find Whitehouse’s gloves. Oliver Kvaternik was found just inside the area, unfortunately his curled effort was safely watched wide by Whitehouse. Oliver Kvaternik would prove a menace as his powerful effort is caught by the keeper. You would be mistaken for thinking a Nash goal was coming as Cameron Tetlow as found in the box, but his shot was incredibly saved by Whitehouse. The following corner found George Waring who fired over from close range. Trialist was found just inside the box with a well-placed cross, but he couldn’t direct his header goalwards. Trialist was involved again as he took aim from range, Whitehouse tipping over. Trialist almost had the scores level late on as he cut onto his left, bending a low effort into Whitehouse’s palms. Hanley Town would put the result beyond doubt with seconds to go, as their number sixteen converts from close range, 2-0.
