A highly-rated young defender, Matty joined the Rovers Academy in 2011 at U6 level.

The 2022-23 campaign provided the central defender with the perfect opportunity to be a regular part of Ryan Kidd’s U18s side. His fine displays also earned him appearances for the U21s, where he particularly impressed in the Premier League International Cup draw against FC Porto B in November 2022.

A composed, ball-playing defender, local lad Litherland hails from Great Harwood. His arrival at Curzon Ashton adds more strength and stability to the defensive unit.
