Reflecting on this weekend’s opening pre-season friendly against Liversedge FC, Head Coach Mark Bradshaw gives us his thoughts on the game and the week ahead.
- The game on Saturday was in my eyes a training session of the best kind. Realistic, tough against a side full of National League North experience. On the whole pleasing, disappointed not to score but a good way of seeing where we are at.
- All players involved got their first 45 minutes of pre-season on what was a decent playing surface against a tough committed side whom had already played games before us. Important for the body and mind of everyone and we can now focus on week 2 which we are all looking forward too.
- Three 17 year olds also had the opportunity to experience first team football, this is a real plus and something myself and the club pride ourselves on.
- Coming up this week we have an important session Tuesday and then the exciting first for this club of travelling over to Spain and training at a first class facility, as well as a game against Wigan where the lads will be tested to the absolute max. This trip will most importantly allow the lads more time together than normal a real chance to bond. I can’t thank the Chairman and the rest of the board for allowing us this amazing opportunity.
Following this weekend’s trip to Spain, The Nash are back in pre-season action on Friday 18th July against Silsden FC at the Regal Interiors Stadium.
