Both sides will leave this one pleased to have gained a point and delighted to have not lost it to a mistake. Both Darlington and Curzon had chances to create clear opportunities but neither found the breakthrough nor made the opposition side too nervous.
In the 1st half Darlington could have probably done better when Salkeld was played through but Bobby Jones stood up well to the effort, Luke Griffiths for Curzon had a free kick blocked but the main highlight of the first half coming when Jones rushed out of his goal after a poor back pass, but caught the on rushing Darlington player earning himself a yellow card.
Both sides had further half chances heading into halftime, but again, nothing to get the fans off their seats.
The second half of the game went much like the first, but it was Curzon who had the best opportunity to snatch a goal. A ball into the box found Stefan Mols, but his effort was blocked on the line by a Darlington defender. Jimmy Spencer, who on most occasions delivers, glanced a header well wide. The final 15 minutes of the game ebbed away with neither side committing many men forward, both leaving the Tameside happy with a point.
A few days rest now for The Nash, with another long trip to Rushall Olympic in the diary for Saturday 31st August. #UTN
